What is Coworking?

Coworking is a style of work that describes any situation in which two or more people are working together in the same place but not for the same company.

There is a core set of values associated with coworking, put forth through Open Coworking, a global organization that facilitates and promotes collaboration between coworking communities around the world. Those values are collaboration, openness, community, accessibility, and sustainability.

A Coworking Space is a physical facility or organization dedicated to the concept of coworking, normally dedicated to the core set of values listed above.

"These spaces represent a critical foundation of infrastructure for a new and growing workforce of people who work where, when, how, and why they want. A coworking space's relationship with its members is one that is primarily predicated on the values that drive the Coworking Movement, in direct and deliberate contrast to a more traditional relationship predicated on renting space from a landlord." - whatiscoworking.com
